Marwell Personal Reports

Having close connections to Marwell I always enjoy revisiting for an investigation as it seems to be somewhere where a lot of unexplainable things happen to us during our vigils. I certainly wasn’t disappointed on Saturday.
I was teamed with Rab and Wayne for the small group vigils and we had a new piece of equipment with us in the shape of divining rods. We had seen other groups using them and were keen to find out if they reacted for us at all.
Our first vigil was in the Library, and Wayne found that the rods seemed to move quite considerably for him. He and Rab also picked up on cold patches at various different heights and Rab had a cold feeling running down his right hand side which seemed to follow him around. The rods did not move for either Rab or me and I could not feel the cold areas that the other two were detecting. For me this was a very quiet room.
Our second vigil was in the Kitchen corridor and again Wayne managed to get quite a lot of movement from the rods. Rab was frequently feeling cold down the right hand side of his body whilst Wayne was getting a similar effect down the left side of his body. Me, I was getting nothing. From the movement of the rods we had the distinct impression that something was moving up and down the corridor, and on several occasions the rods seemed to direct us to the connecting door to the back stairs. Unfortunately this was locked so we couldn’t investigate this further. Whilst Wayne was standing centrally I asked the energy to move towards the back door and the rods swung in that direction. To ensure that it couldn’t be Wayne’s sub-conscious reacting to my request I then “thought” the direction I wanted the energy to go. The rods swung that way, and we managed to repeat this a second time. Unfortunately it didn’t work on the third occasion and the rods seemed to want to point into the area in front of the kitchen. We moved there and I felt a cold patch at chest height. Both the others were able to pick on this as well and it felt like a sphere shaped cold area about 10 cm in diameter that we were define the outer edges of. This cold patch moved around but remained at chest to head height.
Next we had the first of our large group vigils. We were on the ground floor and split our time between the Library and the Hall. We did a glass divination in both rooms and although there was some movement, it was not strong and we were not able to build a picture of whichever energy was moving it.
The second of the large group vigils was in the Boardroom. We have had a lot of success here in the past and from what and build up a better picture of it’s history. Alison picked up on a male presence and I suggested several names. The glass moved on the name of Peter and continued to move whilst Alison picked up on more details concerning him. Unlawful killing. Anger. Stabbed in the back (but not literally, more a case of suffering for something that wasn’t his fault). We had uncovered Peter’s story a couple of months ago and I was able to confirm that he had been killed in the hall whilst collecting a debt for an acquaintance of his. His body was then disposed of secretly. One interesting thing that happened with the glass was that it moved over the edge of the table at one point and was far enough off that it should at least have tilted, if not fallen, but it stayed level. The glass ceased moving after a time and it felt like Peter had left us. We then got further movement from the glass, very jerky and only small distances and this felt totally different to when we had been talking to Peter. We were unable to discover much about who this was other than it was male and it did not last for long. The glass then started moving for a third time with very definite movements that again felt quite different to the first two occasions. I felt incredibly happy and joyous and it reminded me strongly of a vigil I had done in this room on a previous investigation. Alison then confirmed that it was a female spirit and I am convinced it was Lucy talking to us. She didn’t stay for long, and we had rapidly run out of time in what had been a very interesting session. Alison confirmed that throughout our time in the Boardroom she had felt that there was a man standing by the kitchen door watching us. She described him as male, arrogant and unpleasant.
We then moved back to the small group vigils and we went up to the Christmas Tree room. I was not looking forward to this room as I am aware of the events connected to it and they involve two of the spirits we had already encountered tonight. I found the room very hot and oppressive but that didn’t surprise me. There is not a lot of space in the room as it is used for storing furniture and Christmas trees and it is quite a dusty room so it is bound to feel airless. After a short while in there I suddenly went from feeling apprehensive to feeling very sad. This is understandable knowing the room’s history, but it was like flicking a switch. One moment I was fine but nervous, the next I was crying. This then stopped as suddenly as it had started and I was fine again for while. This pattern repeated another three times, and on the fourth occasion I felt I had to get out of the room. After I had pulled myself together I went back in where it was still very stuffy and airless. We then felt the temperature drop and both Rab and Wayne felt a cold area pass across them. The room felt totally different after that and I felt totally rational and relatively calm again. We did however decide to leave at that point even though we had some time left. Looking back on this vigil in the cold light of day I cannot explain what happened to me. I didn’t feel that I was controlling my feelings, and that was very disturbing.
Our next vigil was the attic nursery where we were joined by Alison and Steve. The room felt very different to previous investigations and having been cleared of most of it’s junk and tidied up it now looks more like a bedroom. I didn’t feel anything out of the ordinary, and, if anything felt a lot more relaxed in there than I have done in the past. Alison did however pick up on an older woman called Mary.
Our last vigil was at the top of the main stairs and this again was quiet with nothing to report.
Despite what happened to me personally in the Christmas tree room this was once again a very enjoyable investigation for me. We seem to be very fortunate with the spirits and energies in the Hall and they always give us a night to remember. I can’t wait for the next one.

The evening started with Maureen our host giving us a tour of this magnificent house at Marwell. Ten o clock all baseline tests done we started our investigation. I was in team 2 with Maureen and David. We made our way to the staircase which was very wide and long. Sitting on the top stair I came across Naval officers and a lot of men in uniforms ladies all dressed in long dresses but all going down the stairs as if attending a dinner party. Also the names of Henry and Edward .Henry Seymour was not amused that I as a commoner was in this house and made it clear I was not welcome here. There was a man with quite a large moustache which was twirled at both ends. Nothing unusual was seen or heard during this vigil. Then onto the next one the nursery. Here I picked up on 3 children one was a young boy but all were reluctant to come forward due to their Nanny keeping them in check, she was aged about 50-56 wearing a long grey dress and a white pinafore over the top. Her hair was pulled back into a bun. All of them just looking at me but not making any contact.Quite a pleasant room I thought. Next was the Hall where we held a seance with a glass on the table. After Brian, Ed David and Maureen called out it was my turn and had the spirit of a young girl come through she didnt answer to the name of Beth but Maureen had told me she was there. She seemed to have taken to me whether I reminded her of someone she knew I dont know . She was attached to this house and to me and then Louise. Beth said that she was killed in an accident I dont know if she came to me because my brother also was killed in an accident, my brother was Louises uncle she would only connect with Louise and myself. but as soon as David suggested that we close the seance the glass shot across to him. I asked her should I stay to talk to her and the glass came back to me which was a yes. Several times David said we were to close the seance and each time the glass went to him a definate no to close down. I could have talked to her for a long while but the investigations had to go on. Next room was the Library and we had joined up with some more members I felt ok in this room I sat with my back to the fire, all was well except I was very cold on my back no-one else felt cold, I moved away to another chair and the coldness started to go. Nothing was unusual again in this room. At 4 am I made my way up to the Christmas tree room. once in there David nearly passed out and grabbed hold of my shoulder as he had seen a leg coming out among the tree. But soon calmed down when he learned it was a false one placed there. On the cam corder David was using it read that he had 999 minutes left to run then went back to 100 minutes. My camera suddenly died on me batteries went flat. A very oppresive room a room I did not like at all. In the Xmas tree room I picked up that there had been rapes in there, rapes I believe either 2 or 3 were servants from the house. and also Edward was involved, whoever Edward was
After calling out several times there was no response so we made our way back to the hub. This was a most interesting investigation my only regret was not meeting anyone from the past. Thank you Maureen for our creature comforts and the kindness shown to us. All in all I think that Marwell holds a lot of secrets but would not share them with me on this investigation.

Another chance to investigate this impressive building.
After arriving and setting up our equipment, it was off to our first vigil. Myself, Rab and Amanda were in the library. I had never been in this room before and was looking forward to it. Rab invited me to try the divining rods, which I accepted. I had never really given much credence to the rods because, to my sceptical mind, slight fluctuations in muscle movements etc would possibly cause the rods to move. I have to say that I know and would swear that I made no such movements, yet the rods were moving, and always with the same results.
I moved to the middle of the room several times and each time the rods would cross at exactly the same point. I also moved further round the room with again, the same results each time. I even followed their direction round the room and they seemed to lead me round the tables and towards the large door. Myself and Rab also noticed a particular cold spot in one area which was very localised and about 4 feet up from the ground.
Vigil 2 was the kitchen corridor. Upon arriving, we noticed that the door to the stairs, which was locked, kept moving in and out. I would assume that there was another door open, letting wind in and making the door move. Again we tried the rods. This time they appeared to concentrate on the door, each time indicating that we should go through. We couldn’t of course, as it was locked. It then appeared to send us towards the kitchen several times.
Vigil 3 was a glass divination in the Library, with little movement recorded. The second half of this vigil was in the hall, again with glass divination. The glass did appear to move quite forcefully in response to Maureens requests.
Our next was into the “Christmas tree room”. On entering the room, Amanda came over all emotional and at one point had to leave the room. Myself and Rab both felt cold spots and at one point, we heard a rustling near the electrical points.
Next was the nursery, with Alison, Steve, Rab, Amanda and myself. Alison managed to pick up a few feelings but for me, the room seemed quiet. Rab saw a few light anomalies near the fireplace.
On to the stairs and unfortunately, due to the atmosphere changing on account of the coming of dawn, nothing was to happen in this area.
Conclusion.
Not a hugely eventful investigation, but an interesting one, none the less. I cannot explain the behaviour of the dowsing rods, all I know is that I did not move them deliberately.
More investigation is required.

Hi guys well we have just completed Marwell hall and all i can say is it was definetly how i expected it to be. Im not going to set out the report as i usually do because unfortunately i didnt really pick up on enough things or have enough things happen to me to be able to set it out like i normally do. The only thing that happened to me which i was quite shocked about was when we had a glass divination in the great hall. The group consisted of me, Maureen, Brian, Laura, Louise and ken. I opened the seance as usual and tried calling out but got no response. Then Val tried calling out and the glass began to move. It was at this point that maureen started to giggle and said that Beth was with her. Beth is one of the ghosts at Marwell Hall who regularly appears when we go to Marwell Hall and also at maureen's home. Val began to talk to beth asking her various questions. Val then asked Beth if she Beth know's anything about Val that Val doesnt know. She asked Beth if Louise was a blood relative of Val. The glass moved as a sign of yes and Val began to get quite emotional so i decided to ask a few questions. I asked if Beth would speak with me and the glass moved very violently back towards Val. We carried on asking various questions until we had to finish the seance and close it down. I looked over to Brian and asked him if he would like me to close it down and at this point the glass moved very violently towards me. Maureen said that Beth seemed a bit funny with me because i remind her of an old boyfriend called Ben who used to also work at the hall. This hit me pretty hard becuase i am quite a strong believer in past lives. So the only question that remains in my mind from the investigation is: what did i do in my past life? Hopefully when the group goes back to Marwell i might very well find out.

As I am the resident archaeologist at Marwell Hall as well as being a Southern Paranormal member I am going to find it very difficult to be objective in writing my report. My intimate knowledge of the history of the place, associated with the regular interaction I have with the spirits of the place makes it very difficult for me to be able to write purely of my experiences of this one night – and of what I have heard during the week since - - so this could be a long report...
My knowledge of Marwell Hall and its people is increasing constantly, the information is coming not only from recognised documentary sources, but also from the spirits of the place themselves, to the extent that two of them now visit me in my own home on an almost daily basis, and I am receiving information from them through a friend in Suffok (who can connect with many of the Marwell Hall spirits simply by putting up particular photos of parts of the Hall on his computer), unfortunately I can neither, so far, hear nor see those two who visit me, just sense their presence and emotions, but my friend can both hear and see the pair of them and relays what they say to me.
This report, therefore, will probably turn out to be a mixture of what actually happened on the night, and what has happened in the week since.
Our group for the night – David, Val and myself
Val was the only one of the group who had never been to the hall before and I was amazed at the accuracy of what she could feel.
Vigil 1
The Attic Nursery
I have never experienced very much in this room, other than a sense of some sadness, though I am still not certain from where this feeling comes. This night, however, was very different, the room had a much happier, almost cosy feel to it. Some of us had been into the room earlier in the evening before vigils started and found that it had been tidied up – a most unusual sort of occurrence in any room on this floor of the building; we assumed that a member of staff had been responsible for it. It was only later in the week that I had an email from two different members of staff working in the hall asking me if I knew anything about that particular room having been tidied up that I realised that it almost certainly wasn’t a member of staff that had done it - - the attic is out-of-bounds to anyone unless they have to go up there to get something or to put it away, and staff visits up there are therefore fairly rare and tend to be very short. I have yet to find out just what went on in that room while nobody was about, but I’m sure that I will eventually.
Val seemed to be picking up on something in the room, though I had very little other than what I have already mentioned. She told us that she could see a nanny and two small children, the nanny being around sixty years of age, and the children reluctant to come forward and talk to us at all, possibly a little frightened by our presence there. I wasn’t at all sure if she was correct in what she was picking up as I have been given information recently about a much younger nanny in that room, and even been given her name and age; however, in talking to Rodger (my friend in Suffolk) the morning after the investigation he tells me that Val was absolutely right – he picks up on a nanny of about 60 years of age, and two very small children in cots, aged around nine months and eighteen months.
Later vigils were to prove to me that Val was very definitely seeing past events in the hall, covering about 500 years of it’s history.
Vigil 2
Top of the main stairs
As we sat here, the past came flooding in – for all three of us. Val had the most information, and told us of two men, the names she got were Edward Sey... - she though possibly Seward, but wasn’t certain at first, then very definitely got Henry Seymour, on asking her if the other one could be Edward Seymour she said, yes, it could very well be so. These two seemed not to want to communicate with us at all, though I didn’t sense them I have had information previously about their attitude towards others – Val said that they could see us and were saying that we were too common for them to condescend to talk to us, and David said he got a feeling that they were saying it was beneath their dignity to communicate with the likes of us. What I have through Rodger in the recent past, is that some of the more recent spirits see the Seymours as being ‘above themselves’, and really rather a ‘rough lot’, though I suspect that is due in some part to the passage of time and to differences in lifestyles between the 16th and 18th centuries (the latter being the time from which some of the other spirits come from, while the Seymours were at the hall through most of the 16th century). I get the feeling that it is their royal connection (by marriage) to Henry VIII and Edward VI that gives them a feeling of superiority.
The second group of spirits picked up on by Val were from the 1640s. She talked of a fight taking place on the stairs, but said that she was fairly sure that it wasn’t the stairs that exist today – and when I described what the previous stairs may have looked like she confirmed that that was what she was seeing. This seems to have been a fight between Roundheads and Cavaliers – possibly just one of each as space on the stairs would have been limited. There is known to have been a skirmish between the two factions in March 1644 when some 60 of Waller’s men were billeted at the hall – two hundred or so Royalists (according to a newsletter of the time), had spent the day drinking in Winchester, and decided to attack the nearest Parliamentarian forces – who were just six miles away at Marwell Hall. Unfortunately for them, though they outnumbered the Roundheads by at least three to one, they were too drunk to be effective and were fairly easily overpowered, those who were not killed or captured fled back to Winchester. It now looks very much as though the few Cavaliers who were captured were still putting up a fight when they got back to the hall...
The third group that Val told us of were celebrating in the hall – a great gathering she said, she could see ladies in flowing gowns and men in naval uniform going up and down the stairs. I could feel the presence of Elizabeth Dacre very close to where I was sitting, she was looking down over the top of the stairs at the many people below. Since the investigation I have had an email from Brian asking me if there was any naval connection with the hall as he has a recording of what sounds like a naval type whistle. Since then I have had all this confirmed by Rodger who tells me that the occasion was a great reception held in honour of Ranulph Dacre (Elizabeth’s grandson) in connection with his time in the Royal Navy. He had joined up in 1810 at the age of 13, and resigned his commission six years later in order to take over as the captain of a schooner trading to the West Indies, Australia and the Pacific Islands.
So well done Val – you got every bit of it right, amazing stuff !!
Group vigils in main hall and boardroom
For various reasons I didn’t take part in the boardroom vigils, but stayed in the main hall for both sessions.
The first session was a relatively quiet one. The plan was to try a variation on glass divination – we not only set up just the glass on the table, but three toy cars around it as well (on a previous occasion we had some spectacular fun and games with the cars, getting them pushed off the table according to whatever colour we asked for, and at whatever speed we asked for and so on). This time the results were less spectacular, but from my point of view still quite amusing as I now realise which spirit we had with us.
The spirit in question is a young boy called Michael, who died in 1534 – I know nothing else about him as yet. Though he did push the red car very slowly to the edge of the table (he didn’t have the help of two others as on the previous occasion, so found it much more difficult), he was preoccupied with something else - - several of the group said that they could feel something around their feet, and I now realise it was Michael looking for shoelaces to try and undo - something he has done on previous occasions apparently. Nothing else happened during this session.
The second session with the other group (we had split into two large groups for these vigils) was much more active – eventually. This time we had Beth with us, I knew she had been around me for most of the night up to this point, and indeed spent the majority of the night with me. Beth was a scullery maid, then housemaid at the hall between about 1762 and 1772. I don’t think any of the others were actually aware of her presence at any time during the night – though other reports could prove differently. I got the feeling that she was there protecting me, which is not unusual, but this time was doing her best to prevent Rowland from reaching me. As a result of this our glass divination session was very erratic – it was certainly her communicating with the group, but I felt that she was rather preoccupied, and was trying to keep an eye on what was going on in the boardroom at the same time – I felt that she was concerned for the safety of those in the board room. At first very little was happening, but once we turned out the lights, and I had asked her to demonstrate her presence to those of the group that had never been to the hall the glass began to move, slowly at first, but soon much more positively. She seemed to take a liking to Val, and wanted to talk to her all the time, so if the answer to a question was yes, then the glass moved in her direction. On being asked if there was anyone she didn’t like the look of in the group the glass moved towards David – we eventually found out why, in the past she has told me about some of her friends, these included Ben, the masters’ valet, and when we asked if David reminded her of Ben the answer seemed to be an affirmative. Additionally, every time that David suggested we close the session down the glass moved very positively towards him, she didn’t approve of that one and finally wanted to carry on talking to us. We did eventually close the session down, and I found the whole thing quite amusing – having a little insider knowledge isn’t always a bad thing !!
For the following three vigils that were to take us through the rest of the night we went back to our original small groups.
Vigil 3
Kitchen corridor
By this time we were running very late and only had about ten minutes of this vigil left, so instead of doing this area we joined Brian and Ed in the library – our next vigil was to be in there anyway.
Vigil 4
The Library
Very little happened in here for us. Val picked up on very little that I can recall. I could feel Alice Long standing in the corner to the left of the fireplace, and was almost certain that her husband William was also present, seated at his desk, which was positioned where the fireplace is today. They, however, were, as always, reluctant to come forward and talk to us, but I did feel that they were more interested in what we were up to than is usual for them. Perhaps they’re finally getting used to people spending nights with them...
Vigil 5
Christmas Tree Room
Temperature readings in this room were taken every few minutes, and increased from about 21 degrees up to over 25 degrees in a matter of about five minutes or so. My camcorder, which David was using, at the beginning of recording showed a battery life of 154 minutes, it then increased to 166 minutes, then shot right up to 999 minutes !!!! – before dropping back to 100 minutes - - - this was very strange, as the norm seems to be for batteries to drain very quickly. I now suspect, having chatted to Rodger after the event, that as I know Beth was about, that she was trying to help us and make sure that the batteries lasted throughout our vigil.
We felt the atmosphere in the room was oppressive in the extreme, and I was very much aware of Rowland Standish standing close to the doorway – I believe he may have been trying to follow me around for a considerable part of the night. The story that came through to Val in this room was an unpleasant one, a very sad story of rape and abuse of a young housemaid and of one of the younger Standish family members – this by the family member who owned the hall at the time. I have been given the whole story, through Rodger, by the young family member concerned, but for the time being have to leave her anonymous as she has asked that only selected people are told the whole story at the moment, she is finding it difficult, even a hundred years after her death, to come to terms with what happened to her, and is only now gradually telling me what happened to her.
This was an amazing night for me personally, and much of the information that came in through Val and others links in very well with the recorded facts about so many of the families who have owned or lived in Marwell Hall over the centuries.
My thanks to all the Southern Paranormal members who took part in the investigation – it was great !!

As always it is a pleasure to investigate Marwells Great Hall. It really does feel familiar to the group now, like a second home. However this makes me question that if somewhere feels more familiar to a person can that make it more comfortable and less spooky or eerie. The reason I question this is on the other times I have visited Marwell I have felt a little uneasy in certain areas though I noticed this time not only did I not feel uneasy but I was able to, on several occassions be left alone in dimly lit areas without worrying, something that would never have happened on other investigations we have done at the hall. This of course is just my opinion and I am sure others will disagree, but it is something I noticed that I felt I ought to note.
The evening passed with little occurence for our group which in most parts was made up by Steve, Alison and myself. The oddest things that did happen (if you can class them as odd) were mainly centred around the vigil at the top of the main staircase. I sat for most parts with Alison on my left (she was sat closest to the stairs) and Steve on my right (closest to the corridor). We did note (with the back up of temperature testing equipment) fluctuations in temperatures that seemed only momentary like something passed by and on one occassion Alison felt a woman who was watching us. Alison felt the woman come up the stairs towards us and this made her feel very uneasy. At the same time Steve on my other side started to feel uneasy with his back to the corridor. I however in the middle of the two felt nothing and was perfectably comfortable. As a group we did find ourselves commenting on how we all seemed to be staring at the mens toilet door and I know several orbs were caught on digital camera and also on camcorder in that area. I can not explain the orbs we caught however I know all three of us know the stories about the mens toilets being haunted so I think I put this down to pre conceptions rather than us sensing anything.
We attempted the ouija board in the library and did seem to get a response but were not able to clarify many details. We did an experiment which involved us asking the board to give us the first word on a certain page of a book that we had placed on the table. We picked the number and kept the book closed. The boeard did spell out a word but when we checked it was not the word on the page we had specified.
In the library I also had a try at divining with rods. I have no expereince with these but had always explained movement in the them as muscle twitches or subconcious moving. After having a try and seeing how strongly they move I am having to re think my opinion on these. They moved with such strength that I am unable to see how a muscle twitch could cause this as I had first thought.
Again, an interesting investigation and I will look forward to see if the group on a whole have caught anything on dictaphone or camcorder. Many thanks again to the Marwell management and also to Maureen & Brian for planning the investigation. I look forward to returning again in October for the Halloween event.

First Vigil Was in the kitchen corridor. The temp was 20 and we had nothing on the emf.
Ken call out but there is no reply.
We all felt quite calm and relaxed in this room and did not discover any paranormal activity. We move to different positions around the room, call out and still nothing. The temperature remains constant.( I set off the sensors which did make everyone jump)
We then move on to the Xmas tree room. It is 24 degrees all around. I did not feel comfortable in this room. I felt very over powered. Ken calls out and See's a light over in the far right hand corner of the room. Every time ken was calling out me and Louise could see flickering lights from the far side of the corner. I heard a faint whistling sound coming from in the trees. As me and Louise left the room we heard someone talk to us thinking it was ken. When we asked ken if he said anything he did not know what we was talking about. It was a very strange and uncomfortable experience in that room.
The Attic nursery was our next vigil with a temperature of 22 degrees. There was nothing on the emf.Louise feels as if a little boy is present who is not clear of why we are in this room. She felt he was a little bit frightened and of a young age. I felt quite calm in this room.
We went into the main hall with some more people and began to take part in glass tipping on the table provided in the room. There was a presence of a girl and she was very interested in val and Louise and knew that they were related somehow. The girl moved the glass in a wild motion when we asked has anything bad happened in this house and did not like the presence of the men at the table. she wanted to stay with us for a long time but we had to go. She seemed friendly and i felt very comfortable with the presence of her in this room.
At the top of the stairs the temperature was 25 degrees. I have someones sticks they learnt me and they were focusing on the window and the chair in the far left corner of the stairs.Ken calls out but no response. Me and Louise sat in the chair by the window and felt less comfortable whilst we was there. Louise felt her leg was touched whilst in the chair. The temperature in the chair fluctuated between 20-24 degrees.
As we move on to the library the temperature was around 19-21 degrees. This room felt a little less uncomfortable but my eyes where constantly being attracted the back right hand corner of the room. it was a bit Eeary over there. We felt the presence of a man who's name was Edward in this room and that he was the master of the house.
Overall it was a great experience and had some good paranormal activity.

Edd and my self’s first vigil was in the so called Christmas tree room guess why its fall of Christmas trees.
It was nice to work in a team of 2 you can hear and feel much more, with not a lot of room to move about or sit down most of the vigil was done standing up. A couple of light anomalies went across the night vision camera I kept following Edd around with the night vision to see if it was dust made through us walking around but there was no sign of any only when we where still and calling out. This Christmas tree room was supposed to have been the bed room of a young girl called Lucy who was mistreated by I think her uncle.
At the end of the vigil I thanked any sprit if any that may have joined us in that room I was stood facing the window and in my mind I could see the room in daylight and a young girl slim with brown blond curly hair.
Now was my mind playing tricks on me I asked Maureen if there was any pictures of the girl Maureen had drawn one she should me and it was identical very strange I thought.
The Attic Room
This room has changed from the last time I spent up there.
The room to me felt the same, absolutely nothing on calling out. A nice light anomalies went past the night vision camera a sprit or just dust as the attic area is very dusty.
I shall never know.
Ed and myself joined up with some of the London & Essex group we held a glass divination experiment in the boardroom from the very start after opening with a protection prier I had a voice in my head saying get out which stayed with me through the experiment.
Nothing else really happened through this divination, now was this voice in my head my imagination because I know what happened in this room I would like to try it again and see
Again Edd, David, Maureen and I joined the London & Essex group TO do another glass divination in the Great Hall.
I filmed the circle open up with the protection prier after a while the glass did move to questions
Not the best glass movement I have seen and also not the same things I saw in the first ever séance we had in the Great Hall some time ago which did make me think about if there is life after death.
The last vigil of the night was in the library, Julie joined us on this vigil. Now this room to me had a really nice feel to it maybe because I love books and I could picture myself sat in a nice chair in front of a log fire reading a book what more could I ask for.
We had another nice light anomalies go past the night vision camera but nothing else happened.
Another great night at Marwell hall I would like to thank Maureen for getting us in again.

Nothing much to report from my 3rd visit to Marwell I'm afraid to say.
During a seance in the main hall, we did appear to make contact with 'Beth', Marwell Hall's resident spirit who apparently knows Maureen quite well!
Various sounds were heard throughout the night but these can probably only be attributed to the large old building settling, although during my first vigil in the christmas tree room with Brian, I thought I heard what can only be described as heavy furniture being dragged/moved along the floor coming from below. This occured a couple of times. I tried to verify this with a couple of people later on but no-one really seemed to know. I guess this will have to be left unanswered!
The rest of the investigation was quiet and uneventful and like the 2 previous visits, passed without any major incident (for me anyway!)

There were two areas which interested me as despite visiting Marwell before the feelings I encountered there were such a contrast from previous visits.
The first was on the stairs where we caught quite a lot of orbs on camera coming from the hallway by the men’s toilets . I sensed that this was a child playing and made me smile. We didn’t get a name but my group felt uplifted by this . We also got an older woman who was a little aggressive but not aimed at us. I think it was aimed at the child as he seemed to disappear when she came closer.
The second was in the boardroom. Previously I had not experienced anything here, but this evening for some reason , the room was very atmospheric. Very different from what I had encountered before. I was fascinated with the corner by the kitchen area and felt as though I was being watched by a male presence, so much so that Amanda asked me on a few occasions if I could see anyone there. He was distracting me as his arrogance and aggressive behaviour kept me on my guard. I told Amanda that for some reason I had been given the name of Peter and felt the deep feeling of betrayal. I couldn’t figure out why but I was given symbolic gestures rather than words. I got the distinct impression that he found it hard to communicate and express himself. He was elusive and in death as well as in life kept himself in the background . I had the image of walking with my back against the wall which I read as watch your back or someone could stab you . I asked for more as this made no sense to me. I was given the sense of mistaken identity and the fact that he was running an errand for someone to pay back money and was stabbed despite the money not being owed by him. He felt deeply hurt by this as he was not a nasty man and felt that he was used to be made of an example of to ward of other nasty characters. An easy target so to speak. I felt very saddened by this as it was an unlawful killing , undeserved . He was a gentle character and didn’t harm anyone in life.
We also picked up on two other spirits in this room through glass divination, each felt different to the last , but we were unable to establish who exactly they were. I know one was female and the other male as the female was gentile in the movement of the glass and the male was jerky and forceful.
The other room which I didn’t visit this time was the Christmas tree room. I spoke to Amanda in a break and told her what I had encountered previously and my reasons for not going there on this occasion. Out of respect for the woman who had this happen to her made me reluctant to include it in my previous report so kept quite about the incident. I advised her that on my last visit I was given a very vivid image of a young woman being raped . The door was slightly ajar and she knew that she was being watched by another man, but despite her cries for help he just stood and continued to watch this awful deed happen to her. It broke her spirit and she remained in a state of depression for the rest of her life as she knew the man who did this to her and she was in his care so couldn’t speak of it to anyone. For days after my last visit it effected me so felt it was best left unsaid. Amanda confirmed that this incident had taken place and that she knew that the lady’s name was Lucy .
All in an interesting night which gleamed new information . Thanks again for letting us come and visit.

My 3rd visit and it does get a little harder to write a report. Again nothing very much to comment on personally. The Hall is obviously a place that means different things to different people.Still havent found anything to match the unusual orbs caught on the first visit.
